Karen

Karen Nemetz, Managing Partner

Karen Nemetz, Managing Partner, leads strategy, research and program management engagements for Clarus Health clients and oversees the business administration and operations functions for the firm. With 20 years of global strategy and operations experience, Karen ensures the integration and optimization of people, processes and systems to support Clarus Health's mission—delivering leading-edge medical communications and strategic consulting.

Prior to joining Clarus Health, Karen held a variety of senior-level positions including Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President and Global Vice President, in Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and consumer products companies. Her career experience includes strategy and operations management positions at Warner Lambert Company, Booz•Allen & Hamilton and Kraft General Foods.

Karen is a respected leader in the world of business. She has been recognized as a 'woman of influence' by Barrons magazine and featured as one of seven 'role models for leadership' in Jean Otte's book, Changing the Corporate Landscape. She is a member of the Committee of 200, the professional organization of preeminent women entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Karen is a certified Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt. She holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.

David

David Duvall, Partner

David Duvall, Partner, is a health care strategy and communications expert with 18 years of experience supporting drug development and commercialization efforts. David oversees Clarus Health client and team engagements. Throughout his career, David has worked closely with companies and top medical opinion leaders to establish and communicate the scientific basis for product differentiation and utilization. He has expertise across the development continuum—from early pipeline to life-cycle management.

David is recognized for building client value by leading high-performance teams that deliver results with strategic insight, scientific rigor, and speed. He is routinely tapped for his collaborative approach and has led numerous integrated and innovative implementation activities. He is a past President of Pro/Com International, a division of CommonHealth, where he led efforts to build publication planning and opinion leader development capabilities. David also served as an Executive Vice President at Publicis Healthcare, where he was responsible for starting and managing East Coast operations for Discovery International.

Early career experience includes pharmaceutical sales with Marion-Merrell Dow and roles in program management and client services. David has been directly involved in the pre- and post-launch strategy and communication activity of over 50 pharmaceutical, biotech, and diagnostic products. His experience covers virtually every therapeutic area in medicine. He holds an undergraduate degree in Marketing & Operations Management from the University of Toledo, an MPH in Health Policy & Administration from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
